Application Timelines
The application period is January 1 through March 15.
All application materials must be received by March 15, 8:00 PM. Applications/documentation received after the March 15 deadline will not be considered and will result in a classification as an incomplete package. Applications will be reviewed March 16 through April 20 with recommendations for awards submitted to the Foundation's Board of Directors prior to the EOD Memorial Ball (the first Saturday in May). Awards will be announced at the EOD Memorial Ball. Email notifications of award status will be sent on, or before, May 5.

- Application Form
- Documentation support for sponsor's service as an EOD Technician (ie. DD-214, graduation certificate, etc.). Upload the documentation into the online application.
- 2 Letters of Recommendation. Additional instructions are included in the application. Please upload the letters into the online application.
- For those requesting Wounded Warrior Preference, please upload supporting documentation for Wounded Warrior status.
- Supporting Documentation for relationship to EOD Sponsor (i.e. tax return, etc.) to be uploaded into online application.
- Sponsor Signature Page with applicant and sponsor signatures, or Death Certificate in Lieu. Signature page will be emailed upon request for scholarship application. Please make the requested signatures and upload into online application.
- Official Transcript. Transcript must be received directly from the school. Please have the school mail to:

When uploading documents into the online application. Please keep the file size to a minimum. Please use black & white pdf or doc files when possible to assist with reducing file size. There is a 1MB limit per document. If a document fails to upload, please email the documents to the email addresses listed below and make comment in the Explanation Section (Question #35) of the online application.
When uploading documentation, please redact any sensitive information such as social security numbers prior to uploading.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be the child, stepchild, spouse, or grandchild, or other DoD recognized dependent of a graduate of NAVSCOLEOD.
- No applicant will be awarded more than 4 scholarships.
- NAVSCOLEOD graduates are not eligible for scholarship awards.
- Active Duty personnel are not eligible for scholarship awards.
Scholarship Application Review Process
Each application will be reviewed by the EOD Memorial Scholarship Committee. The committee members are anonymous. The Executive Director is not a member of the committee and does not participate in the evaluation of the applications.
Each application will be evaluated across several merit categories, with points awarded for each category.

- Essay
- Future Goals
- Letters of Recommendation
- Overall Impression
All questions on the application require answers or the requested documentation. If the requested information or documentation is unknown or unavailable, an explanation is required. Any blank or unanswered questions, without the respective explanation will result in the application being classified as incomplete and be disqualified from consideration.
Award Payments
Payments of awards are made directly to the educational institution on behalf of an awardee. Awardees will not be provided with funds directly. Award payments will be made upon receipt of proof of enrollment by the scholastic institution for the academic award year.
Award recipients must maintain their full-time student status (part-time for spouses) throughout the award year. If the award recipient status changes from full-time to part time, or is disenrolled, the remaining funds within the scholarship account will be returned to the EOD Memorial Foundation.
